No power cuts, load-shedding this year: Aryadan

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Education Minister Aryadan Muhammed has said that there won’t be power cuts and load-shedding in the current year. “In dams, the level of water is low. Nevertheless there will not be power cuts or load shedding as the government has signed a contract for buying electricity from outside the State,” he said.

“The storage is less this time compared with the last time. This is a big problem. But the government has no intention to impose power cuts so as to face the crisis. The electricity charge will not be increased this time and surcharge will also be not collected from the consumers,” the minister added.
