MALAPPURAM: The police arrested a person for his Facebook post insulting Lt Col Niranjan Kumar, who lost his life while defusing a grenade after terrorists attacked an air force base in Pathankot. The Chevayur police arrested Anwar Sadiq, native of Kodoor in Malappuram. The post was seen in his fake profile page posing as a reporter of Madhyamam daily. Sedition charge has been imposed on him.
His Facebook account was in Anu Anwar’s name. A child’s picture is used as the profile picture. The profile stated that he is a resident of Malappuram and his schooling was at Cherukulambu IKTHSS School and took his graduation in 2009. The news was later seen withdrawn from Facebook.
