CPM-RSS talks misinterpreted: VS

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition leader V S Achuthanandan has said the Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has been misinterpreting the CPM’s stand that it is ready for talks with the RSS for ending violence in Kannur.

“The chief minister is trying to create the impression that CPM is befriending RSS and BJP under the guise of holding discussions to end violence. This brings out his party’s political foul game,” VS said in a statement.

“Everyone knows that it is Ooommen Chandy and his party who have been trying to make friends with RSS and BJP, covertly and overtly, as well as doing ‘vote businesses’ with them.  The UDF’s Congress-League-BJP ally that once found place in the political history of Kerala is itself proof of this. Withdrawing the case against Pravin Togadio who makes communal speeches and against ABVP members who attempted to murder policemen at MG College was done to appease the Sangh Parivar.”

“The unethical tie-up between Congress and RSS during the Aruvikkara by-election has become a folklore. Oommen Chandy is a person who smiles and sings ‘hallelujah’ when Vellapally cosies up with RSS and Sangh Parivar,” he added.
