THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Vigilance which has tightened the noose around former Excise Minister K Babu has now extended its tentacles to a few more Congress leaders. After Babu, the Vigilance is planning to carry out investigation against former MLA Benny Behanan.
Both leaders are top Congress leaders, prominent A Group members and confidants of former chief minister Oommen Chandy.
According to sources, the Vigilance had decided to start investigation against Benny Behannan in connection with the bar bribery case. According to the complaint, the bribe money was used to settle solar cases. Benny is also a leader who has a close relationship with Babu. Benny’s assets will also come under the Vigilance scanner.
Vigilance officials got complaints against Benny, while they were raiding Babu’s house. On account of solar controversies, Benny had to lose his MLA candidature. Despite Oommen Chandy’s strong recommendation, Benny had to keep off the poll contest
