Charge sheet filed in Jisha murder case

KOCHI: The Special investigation team handling the Jisha case submitted the charge sheet to Ernakulam Principal Sessions Court today. Assam native Ameerul Islam is mentioned as the first accused in the charge sheet.  

On the basis of the case no 909/16 registered by Kuruppumpadi Police, Ameerul has been charged under IPC 449, 376,302 and sessions related to sexual harassment of SC/ST. The case was charged for trespassing, rape and murder. In the remand report, it is said that Ameerul brutally killed Jisha when she tried to resist the rape.    

Ameerul is said to have confessed to the crime. He had disclosed that another person Anarul was also with him at the time of crime but the police found out that Anarul had left Perumbavoor before the crime.

According to the charge sheet, Ameerul, who is perverted, had an eye on Jisha. On the day of the crime, he went into Jisha’s house, after coming to know that she was alone there and forced her to have sex with him. When Jisha resisted him, the irate guy went outside only to return. He caught hold her and injured her neck and abdomen with a knife he was carrying with him. In the tussle, he tore apart her clothes.    

During the struggle before death, Jisha asked water and Ameerul poured liquor he had with him into her mouth. He remained in her room to confirm the death and then left the room. He threw away the knife into the backyard of the house and left the place. When going back his chapel sank in the nearby canal.

The report says that the circumstantial evidence and scientific evidence were against the accused. The police have taken maximum time possible to prepare the charge sheet.
