PAYYANUR: Circle inspector M P Azad arrested T M Santhosh (34), a tipper lorry driver in connection with the death of five including two kids near Kunnaru in Payyanur yesterday.
The accident happened after the tipper lorry collided with an auto. A case has been registered against him as per 304 and 308 section for culpable homicide not amounting to murder and attempt to commit culpable homicide. Meantime, the local residents alleged that he was drunk and had created a scuffle at the barber shop in Kunnaru.
Those killed in the accident are auto driver Ganeshan, wife Lalitha, daughter Lishna, Aradhya, daughter of their relative Asha and 70-year-old-pedestrian Devaki.
