Court denies bail for nine in TP murder case
KOZHIKODE: A court here Tuesday rejected bail plea of nine accused, including two CPI (M) leaders, in the high profile murder of RMP leader T P Chandrasekharan. Vatakara First Class Judicial Magistrate Court rejected the plea of seven-member suspected assassins and CPI (M) leader P Mohanan and K C Ramachandran.
The court also rejected the contention of the accused that the charge sheet filed by the police was incomplete while considering the prosecution's argument that the probe into the case was complete and only the conspiracy angle was looked into. The case was later transferred to Kozhikode Sessions Court for further action/hearing.
TP, who floated the RMP along with others after their expulsion from the CPI (M), was waylaid and murdered at Vallikkode near Vatakara in Kozhikode on May 4 while he was returning home on his motorbike. The party had, however, denied any role in the gruesome murder.
