Kejriwal accuses Robert Vadra of corruption

NEW DELHI: In a major expose, Arvind Kejriwal, the India Against Corruption activist who parted ways with social crusader Anna Hazare to launch his own political party, has levelled charges of accumulating disproportionate land assets against Robert Vadra, husband of Priyanka Gandhi.

Demanding a complete probe into the charges, Kejriwal said, Vadra was provided interest free unsecured loan by real estate firm DLF with which he allegedly bought property in all worth Rs 300 crore, albeit from DLF. "Six firms were registered so that land in all worth Rs 300 crore was transferred in Vadra's name. What's surprising is that DLF itself provided the loan to buy the slew of properties, most of them being in Congress-ruled states," added Kejriwal.

Questioning the manner in which DLF was allowed to buy vast swathes of land in Haryana, Dehra Dun and other Congress-ruled states, lawyer Prashant Bhushan said, "As per the information sourced from Registrar of Companies, these six companies bought seven apartments worth Rs 35 crore for a mere Rs 5 crore. DLF apparently loaned Vadra nearly Rs70 crore to help him buy property and land dirt cheap, while the cumulative market value of these properties is well above Rs 500 crore."
