Student hospitalized after eating shawarma

KOZHIKODE: Shawarma has turned villain once again. A 16-year-old student identified as Aadil Muhammed of Kozhikode was hospitalized after having shawarma.

Aadil on his way to attend a basketball tournament in Changanassery had shawarma from Hot Buns, a hotel near Kozhikode railway station.  He was hospitalized after he fainted during the tournament. He later told authorities that he had eaten shawarma from Hot Bun.

One had died in the capital city after eating shawarma a few months back.

Various youth organisations staged protests in front of the hotel. The food safety department had collected samples from the hotel for examination.

The Vyapari Vyavasayi Ekopanasamithi has asked all shops of Link Road to down shutters in protest against the attack.
