A narrow escape for Alappuzha Express today

KOCHI: Kerala escaped from another train tragedy on Friday by a whisker. The Chennai-Alappuzha train that passed over a faulty track had a providential escape.

The incident happened between Kalamassery and Idapally. The rift on the track came to the notice after four bogies passed through it. The train was stopped soon after this, or else other boggies would have derailed.

However, a major tragedy was averted due to Railway official’s sudden intervention.

The train service through this track will be restored only after the track is repaired. Because of this, many trains were delayed today.
Some days ago, Malabar Express had derailed at Kurukoor in Angamaly. Tracks in many parts of the State are in bad condition.
