KOCHI: Police have arrested a five-member gang from Moovattupuzha who allegedly tried to defraud ATM customers and cheat them of Rs Five lakh. The gang secretly collected the details of card holders who did shopping using their cards and committed the fraud.
A special machine the culprits used for collecting information from ATM cards was also seized from the gang. Police said that they might have got the help of certain shop employees in committing the fraud.
Chalakkudy Mothirakanny native Jinro Joy, Kottayam Samkranthi native Asi, brother Ahadj Mon, Ambalappuzha native Sharooq and Palluruthi native Manu Joli were the people arrested in the case.
