Assembly session from Sept 26; Devaswom recruitments to be through PSC

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Cabinet has decided to recommend to the governor to begin Cabinet sessions from September 26. Moreover, it has also been decided to hand over recruitments in the Devaswom board to the PSC.

But, as it will take at least one year for the PSC to prepare special rules and start recruitments, the existing recruitment board will be retained with minor modifications. The amendment bill in this regard will be tabled in the coming Assembly session.

The session’s main goal will be to make sure that a comprehensive budget is passed. As GST bill has been passed in Parliament, the State Assembly will have to pass a resolution, accepting the bill. This will happen in the Assembly session, which will end on November 4.

The Cabinet meeting also decided to allow special financial assistance of Rs 1000 to each Anganwadi worker and helper.

The step taken to extend the service of doctors, who were supposed to have retired on My 31 last year, will be made official. For their tenure post the retirement period, they will not enjoy any service concessions. The retirement period of the doctor, who were to have retired between June and October, this year has been extended till November 30.

KSFE staff will be given revised salary with retrospective effect starting from August 1, 2102.  

The Cabinet also gave nod for creating posts in additional batches started in 12 higher secondary schools during 2102-13 academic year. 56 HSST posts and two lab assistant post will be created.
