DMRC gets consultancy contract for Light Metro

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The cabinet Wednesday decided to make DMRC the consultant for the preliminary works of Thiruvananthapuram-Kozhikode Light Metro Projects subject to the terms and conditions. After getting center’s permission, DMRC would be appointed as the consultant of all projects. A deputy collector of a sub-divisional officer (revenue) has been entrusted with the job of acquiring land for the projects. A decision has been taken to allot enough employees.

Almost 1.9893 hectares of land would be acquired for Thiruvananthapuram Metro and 1.4474 for Kozhikode Metro. 2.77 hectares of land would be taken for the construction of flyover for Thiruvananthapuram Metro. 272.84 crore would be sanctioned for the construction of flyovers in Sreekaryam, Pattom and Ulloor.

KIFBI will fund for the expenses related to it. A decision has been taken to implement it as a turnkey project via DMRC using the fund of KRTL, the proposed agency

Land would be acquired for the metro in Thiruvananthapuram from Pallippuram of Thiruvananthapuram taluk, Kazhakoottam, Pangappara, Cheruvakkat, Ulloor, Kowdiar, Pattom, Vanchiyoor and Thycaud villages. Land would be acquired from Chevayur, Nellikode, Kottooli, Kasaba, Nagaram, Panniyangara and Cheruvannoor villages in Kozhikode taluk.

The cabinet decided to appoint Sirsha N A, Anisha S Panicker, Nimmy K K, Balram, M K Indu and P Raj as the munsif magistrates.
