Gold recovered from Babu’s younger daughter’s locker

KOCHI: Almost 100 sovereigns of gold have been recovered from the locker of the younger daughter of former minister K Babu, facing vigilance probe. The gold was recovered from Aishwarya’s locker in Union Bank’s branch at Ponnurunni in Thammanam.

The vigilance had on Monday recovered 117 sovereigns of gold from the locker of Aathira, eldest daughter of Babu, at the Punjab National Bank in Thammanam. Vipin, son-in-law of Babu informed recovering so much gold. However, he said the gold recovered was not illegal and is part of family asset.

The vigilance team had recovered 40 sovereigns of gold from Aathira’s locker in Indian Overseas and Syndicate Banks.
