Vigilance’ letter to Registration IG to find Babu’s assets

KOCHI: The vigilance is expanding probe against former minister K Babu in connection with the disproportionate assets case to more levels. Their first steps is to find the assets of those suspected to be the benamis of Babu and his relatives. As a first step, the vigilance has given a letter to registration IG. The letter was given to registration IG to know whether Babu, his daughters Athira, Aishwarya, their in-laws, Baburam, Mohan, mentioned in the FIR as benamis and their relatives have bought land recently.

Meantime, the investigating officials have bought back the documents obtained in the raid conducted at Babu, houses of his benamis and firms, from Moovattupuzha Vigilance Court.  The decision of the vigilance is to intensify examination on the basis of these documents.

They will mainly examine his trips to Kuwait and Singapore and whether it was with the permission of the government and the purpose of the visit. The vigilance is also examining his dealings made in the fisheries department also. The vigilance will soon question Babu and his relatives. Primary investigation in the case is also complete.
