Notice served on 28 hotels

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The health squad of the city corporation issued notices to 28 hotels which were found functioning in unhygienic conditions over the past one week. The squad inspected 50 hotels during the period. Action was also taken against 18 persons for dumping garbage in public places, and a total of Rs.15,320 was levied as fine. Eight shops were found to be using plastic carry bags of less than 40-micron thickness, and a fine of Rs.5,510 was collected from them, according to a press note issued.
