THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Self-financing medical managements withdrew from the deal made with the state government. They withdrew from the deal after the James Committee cancelled the exams held in Kozhikode on May 31for admission to the MBBS management seats of nine self-financing medical colleges. The exams were cancelled after irregularities were detected. The managements also decided not to cooperate with the government.
Justice J M James Committee in charge of the exams noticed that question papers were leaked to students after receiving an amount of Rs 28 lakhs from them and students who failed to pay the money were not permitted to write the exam. The exam was held in only one centre in Kozhikode.
