PERUNNA: The NSS Tuesday scoffed at the statement made by Union Minister Vayalar Ravi against them. Talking to reporters here, NSS general secretary G Sukumaran Nair said Vayalar made the statement soon after holding talks with Chief Minister Oommen Chandy.
Nair said Vayalar Ravi used to ridicule us whenever he gets a chance. Ravi need not decide what the NSS has to opine. There are two opinions in the congress on the article published in Chandrika. The opinion of P J Kurien, Rajya Sabha deputy chairperson is not the same as that of Vayalar Ravi.
Nothing has happened and will not happen on our relation with the SNDP. The relations between the two are not a political one but the unity between two community organisations. Both the community organisations will have different opinions on political affairs but it will not hamper our unity, he said.
The apology made by Chandrika will not find a solution to the damages suffered by the NSS. The daily had defamed me personally and our founder Mannath Padmanabhan. Other decisions will be taken after getting a reply for the legal notice.
In reply to a question, he said the NSS doesn’t want to make anybody a minister.
