09 May 2011: The Madhya Pradesh police have asked the Kochi Tuskers Kerala (KTK) to pay Rs 74.25 lakh on account of security cover for the IPL matches, to be played under floodlights at Holkar Stadium here next week.
“We have asked KTK to pay Rs 74.25 lakh for security during the two IPL matches at Holkar Stadium,” Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Maheshchandra Jain said. He hoped that the newly formed franchise - KTK — will not have problem paying, as it would recover the sum through ticket sales.
It is for the first time that IPL matches are being played in Madhya Pradesh. KTK has listed Holkar stadium as its domestic ground. KTK will meet Kings XI Punjab on May 13 and Rajasthan Royals on May 15.
