Ajmal, Radhika Apte injured in a mishap

Actors Ajmal and Radhika Apte were involved in a mishap while shooting for their upcoming flick Vetri Selvan in Ooty.
The movie is directed by popular ad filmmaker Rudhran and the film’s unit had been camping in the hill station for the last few days.
The accident took place when a crucial scene that required Ajmal and Radhika to travel in an auto rickshaw was being shot by the director.
The rickshaw was reportedly driven by an assistant director and he lost control of the vehicle, which overturned on one side of the road.
Both the actors and the driver sustained minor injuries and they were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital where they were given first aid.
Since the mishap happened near Charing Cross, one of the busiest areas of the hill station, a large number of residents and tourists thronged the place. As a result, tension prevailed for some time and traffic was disrupted.
When DC contacted Rudran, he was just recovering from the nightmarish experience. “We had hired a regular auto and a driver who knew the terrain well.
My assistant was not driving it, as misconstrued by some people. It was a part of a small scene and a back shot.
Ajmal and Radhika were seated in the front along with driver, and the cameraman and I were sitting behind with the monitor when the accident happened.
Thankfully, it hit the right side, which had a roadside wall — the other side was a deep slope. So, a major accident was averted,” he said.
