Eco-friendly budget for T’puram district panchayat

Saturday, March 24, 2012: Restoration and protection of water bodies, medical care for the poor and development of infrastructure for schools and hospitals are the thrust areas in the annual budget of the Thiruvananthapuram district panchayat presented on Saturday.
Presenting the budget before the panchayat committee, Vice President Rufus Daniel termed it a package of environment-friendly proposals aimed at rural development. Rs 245 crore has been set apart for restoration and protection of water bodies.
