HC quashes Govt legislation on roadside meetings
Thursday, March 22, 2012: The Kerala High Court on Thursday quashed the state government legislation that permitted to hold meetings on the roadsides.
The Court allowed festivals like Attukal Pongala to be performed on one side of the road without causing any obstruction to the public life.
To circumvent the court order prohibiting meeting on roadsides, Kerala Assembly had earlier adopted a bill so as to facilitate wayside meetings.
