Kerala Budget-2012-food items,Ayurveda products to cost less


THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Finance Minister K M Mani increased the tax of foreign liquor, cigarettes, tobacco products and pan masala. It has been increased to 15% from the present 12.5%. The price of carry bags will go up as the tax of it have been raised to 20% from present 12.


In the meantime, the tax of food items has been reduced from 4% to 1%. The prices of dal, pulses, maida and oil have been reduced. The prices of fodder, tinned food items will go down. The tax of stent and value used for heart treatments has been exempted.


The tax of Ayurveda products have been reduced to 5% from 20. So an immense decrease will be felt in the price of Ayurveda products.
