Thursday, March 8, 2012: Goods worth thousands of rupees were destroyed in a major fire that broke out in the godown of a spinning mill at Chathannur area in Kollam on Thursday night.
No casualty was reported, but machineries, yarn and other goods were destroyed in the fire accident, sources said. The fire was first noticed by one of the employees who immediately informed that matter to the nearby fire station.
Fire-fighters managed to put out the flames after struggling for more than three hours.
