Tuesday,
March 13, 2012: The nurses’ strike at Kochi Lakeshore hospital entered second
day on Tuesday.
The nurses at Lakeshore Hospital began strike on Monday
following the non-implementation of the agreement regarding salaries and
harassment of the nurses who had struck work earlier for more than two weeks
last month.
According to the representative of the unit of United Nurses’
Association at Lakeshore, the management had taken a harsh view towards the
nurses for striking work. Two nurses on probation were dismissed and more
nurses would face the same situation, the management had told the nurses’
representative.
