Pensioners in Kerala to go on hunger strike

Tuesday, March 6, 2012: Pensioners in Kerala will stage a fast before the Parliament House on March 13 to mount pressure on the Government to concede their demands.
Provident Fund Pensioners Association (PFPA) President K Pavithran and General Secretary T P Unnikutty said that they were compelled to launch the agitation as the Centre had failed to resolve the issue.
The government which had assured in Parliment that the minimum pension would be revised after ten years, has not fulfulled this promise despite continuous pleas by the organizations,they said.
