PIRAVOM: Polling for the crucial Assembly by-election in Kerala’s Piravom constituency will be held today (Saturday) amidst tight security arrangements. The Election Commission and police officials said preparations had been completed for the smooth conduct of polling in Piravom. Counting of votes will be held on March 21.Piravam has a total of 1.83,493 voters for whom 134 polling booths, of which 26 have been identified as sensitive, have been arranged for casting the votes. The constituency had witnessed a 79.51-percent voter turnout in the 2001 election and this is expected to go up this time.
