Situation favourable for UDF in Neyyattinkara: Minister

Saturday, March 24, 2012: Union Minister of Overseas Indian Affairs Vayalar Ravi today opined that the situation was favourable for the United Democratic Front (UDF) in Neyyattinkara in the eventual by-poll for the seat left vacant by the embattled CPM leader R Selvaraj.
Addressing the presspersons here on Saturday, Minister downplayed the rumblings in UDF over the candidate for the by-election to Neyyattinkara Assembly constituency. KPCC would take a final decision on candidate for Neyyattinakara, he added.
Selvaraj had resigned from the House saying he was a victim of ‘factionalism’ in the party. Announcing his resignation, Selvaraj said he was “forced” to take the decision after realising that he would not get “any justice or protection” from the party leadership.
