THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The LDF is laying siege to the secretariat pressing for Finance Minister K M Mani’s resignation in the bar bribe scam.They besieged in front of the secretariat and other district collectorates. More than 10,000 activists took part in the siege.
Four gates of the secretariat were blocked. The activists blocked the gate of the cantonment part Wednesday in order to prevent the entry of the chief minister and other ministers. Though it was decided to open the gate with tight police security, they could not do so. A team led by V Sivankutty MLA blocked here.
The police later intervened and removed them after courting arrest. The ministers with the escort of police reached the secretariat to partake in the cabinet. The police arranged tight security for the chief minister and the finance minister.
