THIRUVANANTHPUARAM: The vigilance Tuesday obtained legal advice that a probe need not be conducted against Excise Minister K Babu after registering a separate FIR in the bar bribe case. The advice also stated that a probe against Minister V S Sivaskumar is also not needed. Vigilance additional director of prosecution P Sasheeendran gave the legal advice to vigilance director.
A probe is being conducted against Finance Minister K M Mani presently. The advice said the allegation against Babu need be probed along with it. There is no proof to register a new FIR against Babu. In this situation, the exact situation of the allegation should be probed.
The vigilance sought legal advice on whether a new case should be taken against Babu based on Biju Ramesh’s secret statement.
