THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The vigilance director Thursday sought a report from the investigating official on the secret statement of bar owner Biju Ramesh revealed before the magistrate. Directions have been given to examine whether there is any new revelation in his statement.
The main allegation in his statement was that Rs 10 crore was given to Excise Minister K Babu via bar owner Krishnadas as bribe. He had also mentioned cash was offered to Ministers V S Sivakumar and K M Mani. A decision on whether a new case should be registered would be decided after examining in detail the statements against the ministers.
Meantime, there would be no special investigation against Minister Babu in the bar bribe case.
