Nod for light metro in T’puram, Kozhikode

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The cabinet Wednesday granted sanction to implement the light metro project in Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode. Briefing reporters after the weekly cabinet meet, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said as part of the project, the Mananchira-Meenchantha Road in Kozhikode and the Kazhakkoottam-Kesavadasapuram Road in the capital city would be widened.

The government has full faith in E Sreedharan, advisor to Kochi Metro. His services are appreciated. He is the one behind the achievements gained so far in the Kochi Metro Project. The government is concerned if any worry has caused to him in connection with the Light Metro Project. Further processes on the project  will be decided after consulting with Sreedharan.  

Permission has been given to the airport company to directly buy 11.44 acres of land for the Kannur Airport.
