PANUR: A Congress worker was injured when he was hacked yesterday at Palathayiyil under Panur Police Station limits. The injured is Pullukara Thadathil Muhammed Anas (25) and the incident happened at around 10 pm.
Anas was riding his bike, when he was waylaid and attacked using deadly weapons. The Congress man, who had sustained serious injuries in head and leg, was admitted to Thalassery Indira Gandhi Cooperative hospital and later operated upon.
The Congressmen alleged that the CPM was behind the attack. UDF Koothuparambu constituency candidate K P Mohanan, DCC General Secretary K P Saju and Block Congress president K P Hashim visited the youth.
