KOCHI: Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has a filed a defamation case against Solar case main accused Saritha S Nair for making “baseless” sexual exploitation charges against him. The case has also been filed against four journalists – two each from Asianet and Kairali People channel
In the case filed in the Ernakulam Chief Magistrate court, it is said that Saritha has been trying to sully the image of the chief minister through TV channels when the election is round the corner. “The TV channels that leaked the letter have also been working to demean me. The very sexual exploitation charge was raised, foreseeing the Assembly election. Since certain media groups have been playing up the issue, it has maligned my public life and brought great mental agony to me,” Chandy said in the petition.
