MAVELIKKARA: Former Mavelikkara block panchayat president Kavitha Sajeevan (40) has died in a bike accident. She was riding pillion with her husband Sajeevan along with her son Ananthakrishnan on their way back from Chettikulangara Devi Temple at around 10:30 pm on Friday. They had gone to attend the annual temple festival. Their bike overturned while giving side to a vehicle that came opposite to them at Panachamoodu petrol pump near the temple.
Kavitha, who fell off the bike, went and banged her head against a post. Sajeevan’s hand was injured while their son escaped unhurt.
Though Kavitha was soon rushed to a private hospital in Thattarambalam, she succumbed to her head injuries soon. Kavitha’s husband is a resident of Purathu Parambil house and ‘well’ worker. He is an active members of the CPM. Kavitha was also a CPM local committee member.
