Friday, 25 November 2011: As many as 30 students were hospitalised after they complained of chest distress following leakage of gas from Kerala Minerals and Metals Ltd (KMML), here today.The students of Government Girls High School, near KMML, were admitted to various local hospitals here, police said.
However, they were not in serious condition. About 35 students have been admitted to the nearby Chavara Government Primary Health Centre and over 50 were being treated at the Karunagapally taluk Hospital. Police and Fire and Rescue Service Personnel have rushed to the scene to take control over the situation.
Meanwhile, the company denied any leakage from its plants.
