Tuesday, November 22, 2011: The state cannot wait any more for the construction of a new dam at Mullaperiyar, Water Resources Minister PJ Joseph said here on Tuesday.
The existing dam has become weaker after the recent earthquakes, he said.
This is an issue that affects 30 lakh people, he said. Tamil Nadu should loosen its stand against a new dam and the issue should be discussed by the Parliament, Joseph said. Joseph also asked the national political parties to make their stands clear on the issue.
