Monday, November 28, 2011: The mild tremors that rocked the Idukki on Saturday and the rise in Mullaperiyar water level seem to have shaken the confidence of the people in the region.Hundreds of people, including women and children, came out in the streets in different parts of the district in an attempt to draw the attention of both central and state governments on the question of the safety of the dam.
In some places, people blocked traffic and shouted slogans against the political leaders in Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
