Thursday, November 03, 2011: The counsel of former minister
and Kerala Congress (B) leader R Balakrishna Pillai has filed a petition
against CPM veteran V S Achuthanandan.
Pillai’s advocate EMS Anam alleged that he had not yet
obtained a copy of the plea filed by the counsel of VS questioning the release
of the former minister. There is a rule that when a fresh plea is filed on an
existing case, it should be informed to the defendant and a sign of them should
be obtained.
But the latter violated this, Pillai’s counsel said. Nobody
from my office has signed the plea, he said. Meantime, VS’ counsel said the
copy of the plea has been sent by registered post to Pillai’s counsel.
