Sunday, November 27, 2011: MPs from Kerala PT Thomas and Jose K Mani, will hold a satyagraha in front of the Parliament House on Monday demanding Centre’s intervention in the Mullaperiyar issue.Water Resources Minister PJ Joseph and Revenue Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan will reach New Delhi on Monday to apprise Prime Minister Manmohan Singh about the state’s concern over the Mullaperiyar issue.
The team would meet Union Water Resources minister Pavan Kumar Bansal, Home Minister P Chidambaram, Defence Minister AK Antony and apprise them of Kerala’s concern.
Meanwhile, the water level at the Mullaperiyar dam touched 135.8 feet on Sunday morning as the water flow to the dam has increased following heavy rains in the region.
