Sunday, November 20, 2011: The Opposition Left Democratic Front (LDF) delegation today visited Wayanad to study on the agrarian crisis which has resulted in eight farmer suicides over the last six months in the district.The delegation team included NK Premachandran, KE Ismail, Kadanappally Ramachandran, PC Thomas headed by LDF convener Vaikom Viswan.
Viswan said the recurrence of farmer suicides in the district and certain other parts of the State such as Kannur and Kottayam was a matter of serious concern. During the tenure of the previous UDF government also there was a series of farmer suicides, he added.
