British-era bridge sustains severe damage as ship rams into it

KOCHI: A ship rammed a decades old bridge near the Southern Naval Command in Kochi on Saturday. The dredger MV Bhagwati Prem hit the Venduruthy bridge, which has now been closed for traffic.

Reports said the ship was carrying out dredging operations for the Navy at the time of the mishap.

The bridge reportedly sustained severe damage.
