Case against Kalabhavan Mani

KOCHI: The police have registered a case against actor Kalabhavan Mani for assaulting forest officials during a vehicle inspection in Athirapally. The case was registered against the actor for disrupting the officials’ duty.

Forest deputy range office U G Ramesan and forest officer Raveendran lodged a complaint against the actor and his friends for assaulting them late last night.

The officials were assaulted when they asked the actor and his friend to allow them to examine their vehicle. They disagreed for it and drove away their vehicle. They came back immediately and assaulted the officials. The officials who sustained injuries are undergoing treatment in the Chalakudy taluk hospital.

The complaint alleged that the actor was drunk and threatened to attack their families with the help of quotation gangs.

In the meanwhile, Mani and his friends sought treatment. The actor’s friend’s wife too lodged a complaint against the officials. The police took the statements of forest officials and Kalabhavan Mani.
