LDF wins in three panchayats

THRISSUR: In by-election to wards in five grama panchayats, Left Democratic Front (LDF) candidates emerged winners in three grama panchayats. United Democratic Front (UDF) candidates won in the other two panchayats. LDF candidates Mariyil Gangadharan, Gerin Jose and T K Chandra Babu won in Paikulam Junction ward (Panjal panchayat) Chovvur East ward (Cherpu panchayat) and Chenthrapinni North ward (Edathiruthy panchayat) respectively. UDF candidates K K Rajan and K K Uma emerged victors in the Vettikuzhi ward (Athirappilly panchayat) and Kaipamangalam panchayat office ward respectively. By-election to the wards was held on May 7.
