P C George likely to resign if Ganesh made minister

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: It is heard that Chief Whip P C George has threatened to resign his post if K B Ganesh Kumar, who resigned after allegations of domestic violence, is taken back in the cabinet. He has stated that if Ganesh is made the minister then his cooperation with the government will be completely stopped.

It is known that George has informed his decision to Kerala Congress (M) chairman K M Mani and some other UDF leaders. If that is so, then a tiff can be expected in the UDF.

Decision of George came soon after Kerala Congress (B) chairman R Balakrishna Pillai met the chief minister in connection with the re-entry of Ganesh. After knowing Pillai’s move, George informed his decision to some leaders.

George is against reinstating Ganesh. If taken back, Ganesh has expressed his dissatisfaction in continuing the post.

Meantime, many in the congress are against the entry of Ganesh. Even the allied parties oppose it. It is also hinted that even the chief minister has not taken a favourable stand on it. Chandy had informed Pillai that a decision can be taken only after discussing it in the UDF meet. Most probably, it will be discussed in the UDF meet to be convened on May 30.
