Chennithala wants Antony to be active in Kerala politics
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Union Defence Minister A.K. Antony should try and involve himself more in the Congress' affairs in Kerala, state party president Ramesh Chennithala said Thursday.
"All want Antony to get actively involved in the activities of the party here and I also wish it happens," Chennithala, who has been on a state-wide campaign, told reporters in Kottayam.
His statement comes after Congress lawmakers from both houses of parliament expressed the same sentiment to party vice president Rahul Gandhi early this week.
Though Antony has kept away from state politics since he became defence minister in 2005, his opinion is often sought on state matters.
