Pension is the right of employees: VS

PATHANAMTHITTA: Pension is the right of every employee and not a liberality of the government and the Supreme Court of India had categorically stated this, opposition leader V S Achuthanandan has said. VS was inaugurating the state meeting of the Central Government Pensioners’ Association here on Saturday. The order of the apex court in 1983 had clearly stated that governments were not supposed to change the pension scheme of employees in accordance with their policy from time to time, he said. The Supreme Court had maintained that pension was the remuneration to an employee for sincerely completing his job and was the wage set apart while serving as a staff member, he said.
