Kerala Latest News Breaking news Malayalam film get national award committee permission for seven movies
Tuesday, May 10, 2011: Seven films from Malayalam, including ‘Makara Manju’ (Mist of the Capricorn) by noted film-maker Lenin Rajendran, have been chosen by the South zone selection committee of the jury to compete in this year’s National Film Awards.

Other films from Malayalam are ‘Pranchiyettan and the Saint’ by Ranjith, ‘Veetilekkulla Vazhi’ by Biju, ‘Gaddama’ by Kamal, ‘Atmakatha’ by Premlal, ‘Adaminte Makan Abu’ by Salim Ahamed and ‘Janaki’ by M G Sasi.

Culture department sources said three other critically acclaimed films ‘Yugapurushan’ (R Sukumaran), ‘T D Dasan standard B’ (Mohan Raghavan) and ‘Electra’ (Shyamaprasad) failed to make it to the list.
