4 held for kidnapping film producer

KOCHI: Four persons were arrested by the Kalamassery police for kidnapping a film producer on Sunday. According to the police, a six-member gang kidnapped Tajuddin, 29, from a lodge Thiruvananthapuram in the wee hours of Sunday.
However, the producer managed to escape from the kidnappers when their vehicle reached Kalamassery. He ran into a police station and asked for help.
The police registered a case and traced four persons in the gang. The arrested were identified as Sanjay, 32, of Palakkad, Sukkur, 34, of Kasargod, Farooq, 19, of Mangalore and Subair, 25, of Sullia. The gang kidnapped the film producer to seek ransom for his release. The police are trying to track down two others who were involved in the kidnapping incident.
The arrested persons were produced before the Aluva First Class Judicial Magistrate and remanded in judicial custody.
