Antony’s wife, Resul Pookutty enroll as advocates

Monday, March 5, 2012: Oscar winning sound designer Resul Pookutty and Defence Minister A K Antony’s wife Elizabeth Antony were among 400 law graduates who enrolled as advocates at a function in the Kerala High Court auditorium.
A retired bank employee, Elizabeth said she wanted to provide free legal aid to under-privileged women. She runs an NGO, which has a legal cell.
She took her law degree in 1996 from the Kerala Law Academy.
Pookutty, who won the Oscar for ”Slumdog Millionaire”, said it was his father’s dream that he should become a lawyer and he was happy to fulfil his wish.
Justice Thottathil B Radhakrishnan and Advocate General K P Dandapani were the guests of honour at the function.
